The Columbia Section of the Optical Society of America is comprised of members of the optical industry in Oregon and Southwest Washington. The purpose of the section is:



"to stimulate the knowledge of all branches of pure and applied optics with its closely allied sciences and technologies; to promote the mutual interest of its members; to encourage cooperation and free exchange of ideas among investigators of optical problems, designers, manufacturers, and users of optical apparatus; and to promote optics education in Oregon and Washington."
