Abstract:

A dark soliton propagates in a nonlinear optical medium. A 
fast-moving weather front spawns tornados in the plains of 
Eastern Colorado. A superfluid gas supports immense velocity 
shear without dissipation. What on earth do these ideas all 
have in common? Come hear the latest results from the JILA 
Bose-Einstein condensation experiment.
