RMOSA
has just learned about an exciting educational outreach program in
our area. The Adam’s County Education Consortium is hosting
its 2nd
Annual
WorkforceConnect program, June 18-22, 2007. This program is
designed specifically for science teachers.
The Consortium contacted OSA as they are very interested in engaging the optics companies in their area to participate. Attached are a couple of documents with more information on WorkforceConnect.
If you are interested in learning more about the Consortium and their other outreach efforts please visit www.adamscountyeducation.org, or call Sandra M. Steiner, Executive Director at 303.450.5106. She is very excited able being able to work with OSA members on some of their efforts. Additionally, if you would like to chat with someone from the optics community who participated last year in WorkforceConnect, please call or e-mail Garry Gorsuch with Meadowlark Optics at 303-833-4333 or ggorsuch@meadowlark.com.
Also attached is some information on a Career Expo they host in the Fall which attracted over 4000 students last year. OSA would love to work with the Rocky Mountain Local Section on having a strong presence at this event.
Please contact any of the RMOSA officers, or Chad Stark, OSA Deputy Senior Director, OSA Foundation Membership and Education Services (202-416-1416) for more information or other suggestions.
